You have to consider at least two parameters of a stepper motor to choose the right CI stepper motor driver for an integrated stepper motor: the Rated Current and the Torque CI240-2A adopt 10-35 DC power supply and supply 0-2 amps settable output current. CI240-4A adopt 12-35 DC power supply and supply 1.5-4 amps adjustable output current. The UIM24004 performs much better than CI240-2A, the temperature of CI240-4A after an 8 hours continuous working is about 50 degrees Celsius and the CI240-2A could reach about 60 degrees Celsius which is among their working environment. The working condition influences a bit on the temperature of the stepper motor driver: if there is a big metal module on your machine for mounting the stepper motor or working with pause, the temperature of the integrated stepper motor will go down.
